Etiquette for Children and Young Adults

The children, teens and young adults of America are a very precious commodity. In order for them to be ready to participate in the world around them, they need to be prepared for many different social and business situations. The California Institute of Etiquette has developed a series of course that are geared to the age of the participants.

My First Manners (for 3-, 4- and 5-year olds) - a ten-lesson course (each lesson is 45 minutes long) that focuses on the rules of introduction, greeting, dining, civility towards other children and adults, and writing thank you notes.

Starting Right (for 2nd through 6th grades, ages 6-12) - a six-class course that empowers children by teaching them how to make favorable first impressions, dining etiquette, communication skills and telephone etiquette.

Great Teens (for 7th through 9th grades, ages 13–15) - focus is on first impressions, civility towards others, personal grooming, skin care, wardrobe selection and five-course elegant dining in a fine restaurant.

Empowering Young Adults (for 10th through 12th grades, ages 16-18) - “Now that you are 18” focuses on your responsibilities as an adult, safe driving etiquette, prom night etiquette, and fiscal responsibility.
